However, there are already substantial leaks surfacing regarding the next big entry in the action franchise.

In fact, some of the leaks have even suggested that the next major premium will be a new Black Ops game in the blockbuster sub series.

So far, the reports have revealed that 2023 will be the first year where Activision won’t offer any new installment.
So when it comes to 2024, the next game is expected to be a brand new Black Ops title.
As of now, it’s likely to happen that Cold War’s Treyarch will return as the developing studio on the next offering.
Bloomberg had first reported their return, soon after Microsoft had announced the massive acquisition deal involving Activision earlier this year.
Furthermore, it’s been revealed that Treyarch’s next Black Ops entry will have a two-year life cycle.
It’s similar to how this year’s Modern Warfare II will proceed post launch, till 2024.

This intel was reportedly found in Warzone Mobile’s game files.
The term Mogadishu, as per speculations, refers to the Battle of Mogadishu, also known as the Black Hawk Down incident.
The said battle took place in Somalia in the year 1993.
Which implies that the next Black Ops could feature a timeline showcasing US intervention in Somalia during the early 90s.
Interestingly, industry insider Tom Henderson, in one of his tweets from 2021, had revealed that the new Treyarch title maybe semi-futuristic.
And that it will take place in varied time periods.

Simply put, it’s an advanced version of the IW engine.
Earlier this year, in June, while interacting with Washington Post, General Manager of Call of Duty, Johanna Faries revealed the next Black Ops will be similar to MWII.
But it will still feel a lot different.
Basically, Treyarch titles will appear in their own texture, being away from Infinity Ward‘s series, despite sharing the same engine.
So far, it seems likely that the new game in 2024 might be the next Black Ops installment.
