CODM: Omega outlasts Blacklist to bag back-to-back Garena Masters titles

Omega Esports clinched back-to-back championships in the Call of Duty Mobile Garena Masters III by outlasting Blacklist International Ultimate in the grand finals with a 3-2 victory, Sunday at the Mariott Hotel in Newport, Manila.

The team composed of Jerrold “Woopiiee” Regay, John “Kendy” Pimentel, Ronan “Rage” Eleria, Kennedy “iDra” Mondoy, and newly recruited Jonnel “R1sky” Buemio defeated Blacklist International twice in the playoffs.

Blacklist International drew first blood in the grand finals via a 250-221 win Hardpoint (Firing Range) with Edgar “Tin” Motoza topping the match with an impressive 43/31/12 KDA.

Omega Esports, though, snatched the next two matches to take an early 2-1 lead.

The Smart-backed squad took a 7-3 win in Search and Destroy (Standoff) and a 3-1 victory in Control (Standoff).

Rage dominated both times with 12 kills and a defuse in the former before putting up a 33-22-6 KDA in the latter.

However, Blacklist International answered back in Hardpoint (Takeoff), 250-169, to even up the series at 2-2.

Omega Esports then bagged the win in Search and Destroy (Summit) with Rage sealing the deal in the 10th round.

He scored a triple kill that round to finish with 14 kills.

“Preparations? Always scrim every night, araw-araw yon,” shared iDra on what they did to win the tournament.

Before getting another shot on Omega Esports in the grand finals, Blacklist did quick work of ALMIGHTY Esports, 3-1, in the lower bracket finals.

Smart Omega won a total of $10,000 while Blacklist had a total of $7,000.
