Modern Warfare 2 has officially arrived for a variety of platforms including PC, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles.
That said, many are wondering whether it is available on the Seam Deck.
The Steam Deck brings Steam’s illustrious library of games to a portable device that players can enjoy on the go, including Overwatch 2 and Apex Legends.
Modern Warfare 2 has just launched as of October 28 and is available on a host of platforms including Steam, as the devs decided to branch away from the Battle.

Unfortunately, Modern Warfare 2 doesn’t work on SteamOS, as the operating system is not directly compatible with the RICOCHET anti-cheat system, which was introduced during Warzone’s lifespan and will also be used for Warzone 2.
Having said that, there is a workaround for those who desperately want to play Modern Warfare 2 on their Steam Deck.
How to play Modern Warfare 2 on Steam Deck using Windows In order to play Modern Warfare 2 on the Steam Deck, players will need to install Windows on their Steam Deck through a USB drive.
This may mean you need to delete SteamOS in favor of the Windows operating system, so beware.
Once you have Windows installed on the Steam Deck, RICOCHET is compatible with Windows and so Modern Warfare 2 will run perfectly fine.
Of course, don’t expect to be playing Modern Warfare 2 at the same graphic and performance level as a PC or next-gen console, but the Steam Deck is powerful enough for an 800p, 60FPS experience.
You may be at a slight disadvantage compared to other players you come up against in multiplayer, but if you can hook up a controller or mouse and keyboard, you’ll definitely be better off.
