“Only Thing Premium About It Will Be the Price” - Call of Duty Fans Feel Cheated as $140 Modern Warfare II Becomes Inevitable for 2023

Published 11/08/2022, 10:22 AM EST Call of Duty Modern Warfare II is continuing to break records ever since it made an awaited debut last month.

After seeing disappointment in last year’s Vanguard, Activision has eventually its most profitable release, at least considering the initial days.

The expansion will be in the form of a premium DLC, continuing the Campaign of the 2022 offering.

However, most of the fans are now frustrated due to an annoying possibility regarding the overall game and its total cost that might reach the mark of $140.

It means that Call of Duty will get another game next year, however it won’t be a standalone entry.

Bloomberg’s reputed journalist Jason Schreier took to Twitter to present some clarity to those who are thinking that there will be a brand new CoD offering from the publisher.

But that’s not going to be the case at all.

Per Schreier, the 2023 game will be a continuation of the recently launched Modern Warfare II.

The reason Activision has called next year’s offering a “full premium” is because they might end up making a $70 DLC, similar to the price of a full video game.

“It’s called a full premium release because they’re probably going to market and sell it as a $70 game with new single- and multiplayer content.

But it’s more MWII,” wrote Schreier.

As soon as Jason’s tweets spread across Twitter, many Call of Duty players began to express their feelings towards the latest news.

According to them, in case Activision keeps the next year’s premium DLC priced at $70, it will be totally unacceptable.

Most of the fans are feeling cheated.

They think that they have already paid $70 for 2022’s CoD and paying another $70 for its DLC expansion in 2023 will take the price of the entire game up to $140.

Which is insane and confusing at the same time from the perspective of the players.

Simply put, majority of the fans are saying no to a $140 price tag.

“only thing premium about it will be the price,” wrote one user who thought that the premium DLC won’t consist of anything in terms of valuable content.
