It became a benchmark for Activision to produce titles, as they had to beat the numbers somewhere in time.

However, the franchise failed multiple times until Modern Warfare 2 broke the code.

Now, looking at the numbers, there are high chances the game moves towards its first billion in the next few days, followed by some other shiny numbers.

After all, it has thrashed multiple DC and Marvel movie sales (two of the biggest and top-grossing franchises in the world).

So, it is time that will show us how much more potential it has left within.

Modern Warfare 2 Game copies sell out faster than multiple Marvel and DC movie tickets A few days back, it was informed about Modern Warfare 2 crossing the $600 and $800 million sales mark.

These numbers were far more than a bunch of top-grossing marvel movies which posted sold-out shows.

To mention names, Thor: Love and Thunder clocked $303 million, The Batman finished at $248 million, Spiderman: No Way Home at $600 million, and the list goes on.

Notably, the game also took over Doctor Strange: Multiverse Of Madness, one of the trending movies at launch.

While Doctor Strange sales halted at $450 million, Modern Warfare 2 doubled the numbers.

Interestingly, there’s a buzz in the market while referring to these numbers, as movie tickets cost $10-$12 compared to an MW2 copy.

If the game has already convinced people to pay between $70-$140, it has already set a special place in their hearts.
