Warzone 2 Season 1: Start date, DMZ, new weapons, loadout drops & more

Warzone 2 Season 1 is nearly here, so we’re gonna run you through everything you can expect in the sequel’s first season from the new DMZ mode to other brand-new content.

The launch of Modern Warfare 2 has certainly kept players entertained with its exhilarating campaign, but it’s nearly the turn of Call of Duty’s battle royale experience as Warzone 2 is ready to drop into the world.

Warzone’s Verdansk is what kickstarted the journey, and Calera, along with Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep, have maintained the franchise’s path.

Warzone 2 looks to begin a fresh journey with a whole host of new elements including the new DMZ mode as well as a new map in Al Mazrah.

If you’re still wondering when Warzone 2 Season 1 is set to launch, we’ve got you covered right here.

The start date for Warzone 2 Season 1 is November 16, 2022, as confirmed by Activision in the Call of Duty blog.

This is also the launch date for Warzone 2, and the start of Modern Warfare 2’s first season, which sees players moving from Military Ranks to seasonal progression and prestige.

We’ve not had word yet on the official launch time for Warzone 2, once we do, we’ll update this guide immediately to keep you informed.

Upon release of Warzone 2 Season 1, players will be leveling up through a brand-new Battle Pass while exploring Al Mazrah and the new DMZ mode.

com/duK0cOq0Hs — CharlieIntel (@charlieINTEL) October 18, 2022 Warzone 2 Season 1 DMZ mode As well as traditional battle royale making a return, one of the biggest things getting CoD gamers excited for in Warzone 2 is the debut of a new mode in DMZ.

The extraction shooter concept has reached high levels of popularity in rival shooter Escape From Tarkov as instead of trying to be the last surviving player or team, gamers are tasked with collecting resources and important items, all with the help and hindrance of AI bots and human-controlled players.

Warzone 2 Season 1 new guns Along with all the new features and changes in Warzone 2, Season 1 is set to bring two new guns to both Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2, but Activision haven’t confirmed them yet either.

Even though Call of Duty is trying to forge a fresh legacy with the new games, there are expected to be plenty of nods and callbacks to the OG Modern Warfare games – such as Highrise and Terminal being POIs in Al Mazrah.

So there’s every chance we could see some classic guns such as the Intervention come to Al Mazrah.

Warzone 2 Season 1 loadout drops A huge leak dropped that insinuated Loadout Drops would feature in Warzone 2, despite lots of apprehension that they would be omitted completely.

Unfortunately, they aren’t being implemented in the way that many players would probably hope.

Instead of paid Loadouts that players could procure mid-game, Loadout Drops are only free drops that will appear sporadically throughout the game.

The loadout drop in Warzone 2.

0 will be a free world drop.

Loadouts won't be buyable.

— Hope (@TheGhostOfHope) November 6, 2022 If players want to manually sport their custom weapons, the only weapon is to buy the gun from a Buy Station and find the appropriate attachments around Al Mazrah.
